About Katherine

Katherine (Katie) Di Tomaso is a civil litigator at Stieber Berlach LLP with more than 22 years of experience, representing insurers, businesses, government bodies like children's aid societies, and individual clients in complex tort disputes. Her work covers personal injury, occupiers' liability, motor vehicle claims, municipal liability, professional negligence, product liability, and insurance coverage matters, among other areas. She has served as lead counsel before the Ontario Court of Appeal, the province's Superior Court, and the Federal Court of Canada, as well as tribunals overseeing self-regulated health professionals. In 2024 she received the Ontario Bar Association's Joel Kuchar Award for Professionalism and Civility. She graduated with high distinction from the University of Toronto and later attended Western University's Faculty of Law, earning honours that include a Governor General's Medal and the CBIA's Wilcox Award for insurance law. Katie has published chapters in the Annual Review of Civil Litigation and Civil Procedure and Practice in Ontario, and she has served as Past Chair of the OBA's Insurance Law Section.
