About Katherine

Katherine "Kate" B. Lawrence, originally from North Vancouver, worked for many years as a non-profit fundraising professional before earning her JD from Southwestern Law School in Los Angeles. She interned at two legal non-profits assisting survivors of domestic violence and clerked at the Los Angeles City Attorney's Family Violence Unit, primarily assisting in the prosecution of sexual offenders. Since returning to Vancouver, Kate has practised exclusively in family law, with extensive experience in division of property and debt, parenting, and support issues, frequently obtaining emergency orders for families in crisis involving addiction or domestic violence. She regularly appears in all levels of court, including the Court of Appeal, and also resolves cases through negotiation, mediation, and agreements.
