About Kate

Kate MacLennan grew up in a small town in Ontario and moved to Alberta in 2010 after completing her J.D. at Queen's University, where she also earned a Bachelor of Science. She articled and practised at a small Calgary firm before joining Birdsell Grant LLP as an associate in 2016, and she became a partner in 2020. Her practice focuses on civil and estate litigation, and she has represented clients before the Court of Justice, the Court of King's Bench of Alberta, the Court of Appeal, and various tribunals and disciplinary boards. Kate chairs the Board of Directors for Sail Canada and is an avid sailor, snowboarder, and runner.
