About Karim

Karim Broodhagen is a criminal defence and family lawyer with MD Law Group in Edmonton. He represents clients charged with a variety of offences under the Criminal Code, the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, and the Traffic Safety Act. Before joining MD Law Group in 2021, he articled with Tinarwo Law, a boutique Edmonton firm, handling both criminal clients and family clients dealing with cohabitation agreements, divorce, parenting and support. He earlier worked at the Alberta Legislature, where he handled matters involving criminal threats directed at elected members and constituency offices. He graduated from the University of Southampton Faculty of Law after studying Political Science at the University of Alberta, and has appeared extensively before the Provincial Court with growing experience at the Court of Queen's Bench.
