About Karenna
Karenna Williams is Turtle Clan Kanyen'keha:ka (Mohawk) from Six Nations, Grand River Territory, Ontario, and was called to the bar in British Columbia in May 2012. She practices primarily as a litigator, advocating for Indigenous peoples' rights, title, cultures, languages, and ways of life, and has appeared at all levels of court in British Columbia, the Federal Court, the Supreme Court of Canada, the Manitoba Queen's Bench, and the Ontario Superior Court and Court of Appeal. Williams is an adjunct faculty member at the Peter A. Allard School of Law, where she co-instructs a course on Indigenous-settler legal relations, and serves as a board member of West Coast Environmental Law and the University of Victoria's Environmental Law Centre. She received the 2024 Courage in Law award from the Indigenous Law Students Association at the Peter A. Allard School of Law and was previously an executive member of the Canadian Bar Association's Aboriginal Lawyers Forum.
