About Karen

Karen Tse practices family law, mediation, and civil litigation at Spruce Legal, assisting clients with separation agreements, parenting arrangements, support, property division, and child protection matters. She has appeared before every level of court in BC, and her litigation practice extends to corporate disputes, construction matters, and estate litigation. An accredited family law mediator, she serves as the elected Bencher for the County of Kootenay with the Law Society of British Columbia and sits on its Discipline Committee. She was appointed King's Counsel in 2025, becoming one of the youngest female lawyers in BC to earn the title, and she was the first Asian female lawyer to lead the Kootenay Bar Association as president. She holds a J.D. from the University of Victoria and graduated as valedictorian from Simon Fraser University.
