About Russell

Russell Sheppard leads Spruce Legal as managing partner, with a practice spanning corporate work, real estate, estate planning, foreclosure, agency matters, and tax-driven business transactions. Before law, he spent over a decade in education and youth leadership roles, including seven years teaching in Kugluktuk, Nunavut, an experience that helped inspire the film The Grizzlies. He's also coached lacrosse for three decades at every level up to international competition, serving as head coach of Team BC's gold-medal U17 female box lacrosse squad at the 2025 Canada Games. He holds the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal and a BDC Young Entrepreneur Award.
