About Karen
Karen Poetker is Chair of Pitblado Law's Executive Board and a senior litigator focused on construction, commercial, insurance, and professional liability disputes. She advises clients on risk management and dispute avoidance, representing engineers, architects, construction companies, insurers, and businesses across Manitoba's courts and in alternative dispute resolution. Her practice also covers professional negligence claims, shareholder and contractual disputes, and multi-party litigation. Karen chairs the firm's Construction Law Practice Group and holds a Construction Law Certificate from Osgoode, earned in 2021. She was called to the Manitoba Bar in 2009 and earned her LL.B. from the University of Manitoba in 2008. She has been recognized by Best Lawyers and Benchmark Canada for her work in construction law, alternative dispute resolution, and personal injury litigation.
