About John

John Cameron has been a civil litigation lawyer with Murphy Battista LLP since 2015. In his more than 20-year career he has helped over 3,000 people obtain compensation after injury, with the vast majority settling outside of court, and has a successful trial record including more than 50 trials before the BC Supreme Court and successes at the BC Court of Appeal. A long career with the Vancouver Police Department, for which he was awarded a medal for distinguished service, sparked his interest in law. He speaks fluent Cantonese and authored Cantonese for Law Enforcement, a field translation guide for police officers. His practice covers class action lawsuits, motor vehicle collision cases, professional negligence, assault and battery, false arrest and false imprisonment, defamation and libel, denial of insurance coverage, and fraud and misrepresentation cases. John earned his LLB from the Peter A. Allard School of Law at the University of British Columbia in 1998 and was called to the British Columbia bar in 1999.
