Administrative & Regulatory LawJohn A. Olah practises civil litigation at Beard Winter, with a focus on complex tort matters involving product liability, sports-related claims, and the liability of hotels, resorts, and bars. His practice also extends to private international law, environmental litigation, and business disputes. He has appeared at every level of court in Ontario, argued several cases before the Supreme Court of Canada, and received the Ontario Bar Association's Award of Excellence in Insurance Law in 2020. John earned his BA with honours from York University in 1970 and his LLB from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1973, where he was called to the bar in 1975. He has taught trial advocacy at Osgoode Hall Law School and authored a two-volume textbook on trial tactics and procedure.
