About Joanna

Joanna Haban is a partner at Alliance Lawyers. Haban completed an undergraduate degree at Simon Fraser University with a major in criminology, worked as a legal assistant at a small firm in Ladner, and then earned a law degree from the University of British Columbia. The first five years of Haban's career focused primarily on family law, representing clients in Provincial and Supreme Court proceedings as well as in negotiated settlements and mediation. Haban's practice has since expanded to include estate planning and administration, real estate conveyancing, and limited civil litigation. Haban generally steers clients toward mediation or other alternative dispute resolution where appropriate, while remaining prepared to pursue litigation when it becomes necessary. Outside the office, Haban spends time with their husband and young son.
