About Jim

Jim Boyle practices exclusively in securities law as counsel to the firm. He was previously the founding partner of Boyle & Co. LLP, a boutique that Canadian Lawyer magazine rated among the country's top ten corporate law firms for 2016 and 2017. Earlier in his career he was a founder and principal architect of the Canadian Securities Exchange, where he helped design both its regulatory framework and its market model. He also designed and implemented Canada's first internet prospectus offering, a deal the Financial Post named one of the ten most innovative of 1999. Jim studied mathematics at the University of Waterloo, earned a BA in film from York University, and later studied economics at York's Glendon College before attending law school at the University of Windsor. He went on to complete an LLM in securities law at Osgoode Hall Law School.
