About Jiku

Jiku Elamathail is a senior litigator focused on insurance defence and construction litigation, and has been a partner at BPB LLP since 2014. He leads files involving motor vehicle accidents, occupiers' liability, and commercial general liability, with particular strength in complex construction deficiency and delay claims, as well as subrogated property loss matters. His notable results include a threshold trial victory in a Bill 198 motor vehicle claim and a successful defence of a vexatious litigant designation on judicial review at the Ontario Divisional Court. He serves as BPB LLP's articling principal, overseeing student recruitment, onboarding, and mentorship, and belongs to the Ontario Bar Association and the Interior Bar Association. He earned his BA from York University in 2001 and studied law at the University of Windsor, graduating in 2005.
