About Jessica
Jessica Szabo is co-founder and principal lawyer of McIntyre Szabo PC, which she launched in 2023. Before starting her own practice, she worked as legal counsel at Ontario Health, as an associate in the health law group at Borden Ladner Gervais, and as legal counsel at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, and she also served as a legal consultant on an international criminal law defence team at the International Criminal Court. She was called to the Ontario bar in 2018 and holds a JD from Bond University, a master's degree in Forensic Mental Health from King's College London, and a bachelor's degree from the University of British Columbia. Jessica represents health care organizations and individual practitioners, with particular focus on mental health law, human rights applications, and proactive risk management advice. She regularly appears before the Consent and Capacity Board, the Ontario Review Board, the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario, and the Superior Court of Justice.
