About Jennifa

Jennifa James earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, with a minor in International Relations, before receiving a scholarship to the University of Birmingham in the UK, where she completed a Bachelor of Laws in 2007. She completed her Certificate of Qualification with the Federation of Law Societies of Canada in 2010 and was admitted to the New York State Bar in 2011. Before returning to family law, James worked for FortisBC drafting memorandums of understanding and land agreements and as an employment relations consultant. She articled at a boutique family law firm in Kitsilano before joining Mark Cochrane at Waterfront Family Law in April 2022 and being called to the British Columbia bar in September 2022. James works as co-counsel on litigation files, including case conferences, hearings, trials, mediations, and arbitrations.
