About Jeanine

Jeanine Zahara was called to the bar in June 2019. She completed her articles at Roulston Urquhart Criminal Defence under the mentorship of Tonii Roulston and Andrea Urquhart and now works as an associate at the firm. Her practice includes trial litigation in drug trafficking, sexual assault, domestic violence, fraud, and impaired driving matters, and she has argued Charter challenges relating to trial delay, unlawful search and seizure, and police conduct. She earned her J.D. from the University of Calgary, focusing on criminal law, and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Dalhousie University. In 2017 she received the Gary J. Bigg Memorial Award in Advocacy, and in 2018 she received the Access to Justice Award and the Provincial Court Judges Award of merit for her work with Student Legal Assistance.
