About Timothy

Tim has practised criminal law since 1988, articling in Calgary after graduating from the University of Victoria Law School in 1987. He has acted as counsel in many high-profile cases across Western Canada, including murder cases and successful insanity defences, and was one of Alberta's top youth lawyers during his first decade of practice. For the past 19 years his focus has shifted almost exclusively to impaired driving defence, and he is qualified to operate all breath testing devices used in Alberta. He has successfully defended more than 4,000 impaired driving cases, served as counsel in several precedent-setting matters, and presents seminars on impaired driving to other lawyers and police officers. He was appointed King's Counsel in 2016.
