About Rick

Rick Muenz has practiced criminal law exclusively since 1992 and has successfully defended clients across Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario, Saskatchewan, and the Yukon for more than 30 years, handling charges ranging from murder to mischief. His practice currently focuses on sexual assault cases, and he has been a guest lecturer on the topic in the University of Calgary's Advanced Criminal Law Course. Muenz has appeared at every level of court in Canada, including the Supreme Court of Canada, and has conducted more than 40 jury trials at the Court of King's Bench. He has volunteered as an instructor for the Law Society of Alberta's Bar Admission Course, addressed the Canadian Bar Association's Criminal Law Subsection, and lectured to Alberta Court of King's Bench justices and Provincial Court judges at their annual conferences. He was called to the Alberta bar in 1993 and the British Columbia bar in 2001, and is a member of the Law Society of Alberta and the Criminal Defence Lawyers Association.
