About Jan
Jan Parnega is a founding partner of Shearer Parnega LLP, bringing years of litigation and prosecution experience to workplace investigation and conflict resolution. She was admitted to the practice of law in Ontario in February 2000. She began her career as a civil litigator at a national Toronto firm for close to a decade, acting on corporate and commercial disputes, insurance litigation, professional liability and intellectual property matters. She then spent ten years as a prosecutor at the Law Society of Upper Canada, handling prosecutions for professional misconduct, conduct unbecoming, and capacity and competence matters, and directing investigations toward sound, evidence-based outcomes. In addition to investigations, she assists clients with workplace cultural assessments and developing workplace policies, and serves as an alternative to litigation where possible.
