About James

James M. Dickson is counsel in the Halifax office with over 30 years of experience in corporate finance, advising public and private businesses across Canada. He has long advised Empire Company Limited, Sobeys Inc. and the Sobey family, along with other public and private companies in food service, energy, manufacturing and media. He is also a professional engineer with experience in Canada's energy sector. He earned his LLB from the University of Calgary in 1986 and a civil engineering degree from the Technical University of Nova Scotia in 1979, was called to the Nova Scotia bar in 1987, and was named King's Counsel in 2010.
