About James
James Hsu is the Head of Employer Services at PortaLaw, advising both employers and employees on all aspects of the workplace. He primarily works with small to mid-sized organizations across industries, both for-profit and non-profit, on the full lifecycle of the employment relationship, from hiring and drafting employment agreements through performance management, accommodations, and dismissals. Hsu previously worked at a large national law firm, a boutique business law firm, and as in-house counsel for an e-commerce technology company. He was called to the bar in British Columbia in 2017 after earning his J.D. and Bachelor of Arts from the University of British Columbia. Hsu serves on the boards of S.U.C.C.E.S.S. and the Hsu and Hsieh Foundation, and manages PortaLaw's monthly pro bono employment law clinic.
