About Erin

Erin Brandt is a cofounder of PortaLaw and an employment and human rights lawyer who represents both individual employees and small employers. She advises owner-operated businesses with little or no in-house HR support on matters like employment contracts, leave and accommodation requests, performance management, and workplace investigations, while also advocating for non-unionized workers navigating dismissals, contract reviews, and severance negotiations. Brandt has practiced employment law exclusively since graduating law school in 2013 and represents clients before the BC Supreme Court, BC Provincial Court, the BC Employment Standards Branch, the BC Human Rights Tribunal, and WorkSafeBC. She was called to the bar in British Columbia in 2014 after earning her J.D. from the University of British Columbia and a Bachelor of Arts from McGill University. Brandt volunteers with the Canadian Bar Association and leads Access Pro Bono's Antisemitism Legal Helpline.
