About James

James Hea is a personal injury lawyer at cassidyHEA injury law. Before joining Tara Cassidy, he spent more than a decade working primarily for insurance companies, giving him insight into how insurers assess and handle claims. He earned his LL.B. from the University of Alberta Law School in 1996, a Master of Business Administration from York University in 1992, and an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Waterloo in 1990. He was called to the Alberta Bar in 1997 and to the Bar of Upper Canada (Ontario) in 2002. He articled at Duncan & Craig LLP in Edmonton and later worked at Giffen Lee LLP in Kitchener and Brownlee LLP in Edmonton and Calgary before joining what became cassidyHEA injury law in 2017. He is a member of the Law Society of Alberta, the Alberta Civil Trial Lawyers Association, the Trial Lawyers Association of British Columbia, and the Canadian Bar Association.
