About James

James C. Simmons is a partner with decades of trial experience, including numerous jury trials, and has appeared at both the trial and appeal level, including the Ontario Court of Appeal. His practice covers general litigation along with advisory work on estate, real estate, and commercial matters, principally in Northern Ontario. He earned his B.A. and LL.B. from Queen's University, was appointed Queen's Counsel in 1982, and is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. He received the Ontario Bar Association's Award for Excellence in Insurance Law in 2011 and The Advocates' Society Medal in 2016.
