About James
James A. LeNoury is the principal of LeNoury Law, representing both employers and employees in employment and labour law matters. LeNoury was called to the Bar of Ontario in 1992 and has specialized in employment and labour law since then, providing consultation and representation before judicial and administrative forums as well as presenting seminars on employment, occupational, and workplace safety issues. Before law school, LeNoury completed a Masters of Counselling Psychology degree and worked as a crisis counsellor and child and family therapist at children's mental health centres in Ontario. In 2000, LeNoury represented the Association of Local Public Health Agencies before the Walkerton Water Inquiry into the E. coli contamination of Walkerton's water supply. In 2016, LeNoury served as lead counsel for Joseph Wilson in Wilson v. Atomic Energy of Canada Limited, in which the Supreme Court of Canada ruled that non-unionized employees of federally regulated businesses are entitled to protections against dismissal similar to those of unionized employees, a decision affecting roughly 10,000 employers and 500,000 employees. LeNoury received the National HR Awards' Employment Lawyer of the Year award in 2016 for this case.
