About LeNoury Law

LeNoury Law is a Toronto employment and labour law firm run by principal James LeNoury, who represents a range of private and public sector employers as well as individual employees. LeNoury was called to the Bar of Ontario in 1992 and has practiced employment and labour law ever since, primarily on the management side. Before law school, LeNoury completed a Master's degree in Counselling Psychology and worked as a crisis counsellor and child and family therapist at children's mental health centres in Ontario.

In 2012, LeNoury took on the file that became Wilson v. Atomic Energy of Canada Limited, representing a non-unionized supervisor dismissed without cause. On July 14, 2016, the Supreme Court of Canada ruled 6 to 3 in favour of that client, confirming that non-unionized employees of federally regulated employers are entitled to the same just cause protection against dismissal as unionized employees, a ruling that touched about 10,000 federally regulated employers and 500,000 employees. The case brought LeNoury the National HR Awards Employment Lawyer of the Year title for 2016 and a spot on Lexpert's Top Ten Business Decisions of that year.

Earlier, in 2000, LeNoury represented the Association of Local Public Health Agencies before the Walkerton Water Inquiry into the E. coli contamination of Walkerton, Ontario's drinking water supply.
