Michael Lane Powell was called to the Bar in 1980 after graduating from McGill University Law School in 1978. He co-founded Griffiths & Powell in 1985 and later co-founded Powell & Weir in April 2002, focusing on employment law and labour relations, including collective agreement negotiations and appearances before labour boards, the Court of Appeal for Ontario, and the Supreme Court of Canada.
