About Jaan
Jaan Lilles is a partner at Lenczner Slaght and leads the firm's Professional Liability practice group. His files cover professional liability, medical malpractice, general commercial disputes, employment, and administrative law, and he has appeared as lead counsel at every level of court in Ontario as well as before the Supreme Court of Canada. He regularly represents clients before administrative tribunals, acting on both sides of professional discipline cases before the Law Society Tribunal and several health regulatory colleges, and he handles judicial review applications arising from tribunal decisions. His interest in privacy law led him to complete a graduate law degree at the University of Toronto, with a thesis on the common law right to privacy, building on earlier law and arts degrees. He taught for three years as an adjunct professor at Western University's law school and was called to the Ontario bar in 2004.
