About J.

J. Bruce Melville has spent his career on property rights issues and is among BC's foremost counsel on expropriation law and related real estate matters, including trespass, nuisance, easements, and statutory rights of way. He has represented both property owners and expropriating authorities, and in 2000 established the Expropriation Law Centre website (expropriation.ca) as a resource hub for the field. He joined Hamilton Duncan as associate counsel in early 2024 along with his colleagues from Peterson Stark Scott.
