About Ivan
Ivan Bernardo is a litigator and associate counsel at Kuefler Stevenson Bennett LLP, with a practice focused on health law, constitutional law, employment law, and privacy issues. Before joining the firm he was an equity partner with a national law firm, where he co-chaired its National Health Group, and he has advised on hospital liability, mental health certification, public health enforcement, professional liability, and labour and employment matters. He has made submissions before all levels of court and tribunals in Canadian jurisdictions, including the Supreme Court of Canada. Prior to law, Ivan worked in government relations for the Calgary Health Region and in the Alberta Office of the Premier, and served as Principal Advisor to the Minister of Health in 2019. He was awarded Queen's Counsel (now King's Counsel) in 2014, and holds a B.A. and an LL.B. from the University of Calgary, an M.B.A. from Athabasca University, and a certificate from Osgoode Hall Law School.
