About Iris
Iris Liu graduated from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law's JD program in 2022. During law school she worked and volunteered within the community legal clinic system, leading community development and access to justice initiatives, including a 2021 public legal education project on criminal law for clinic workers and youth, and she served as a student caseworker in the Criminal Law Division at Downtown Legal Services for three semesters. She articled at her current firm, gaining experience representing clients in the Ontario Court of Justice and Provincial Offences Courts and assisting senior counsel with trial and appeal files at the Superior Court and Court of Appeal. She is now an associate in the firm's Appeals Division, with a particular interest in access to justice, arbitrary detention, and the intersection of criminal and administrative law. She was called to the Ontario bar in 2023.
