About Irene
Irene Petrakis joined McCarthy Hansen & Company LLP as an associate in 2024. She has practised almost exclusively in family law since her call to the bar in 2017, apart from a brief period in estate law. Irene advises and represents clients on divorce, parenting arrangements, support for children and spouses, and division of property matters, and also provides guidance on marriage contracts and separation agreements. She has extensive experience in both litigation and mediation or arbitration, and aims to help clients reach amicable negotiated settlements, while advocating diligently in court when that isn't possible. She earned her J.D. from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in the United States and an Honours B.A. from the University of Toronto's St. Michael's College.
