About Ian

Ian R. Fisher was called to the bar in 1971 after receiving his legal education at the University of Western Ontario. He has practised family law exclusively for more than 30 years, with extensive experience negotiating and litigating separation, divorce, custody, spousal support, child support, and property division matters in the trial and appellate courts of Ontario. He also acts as a mediator in matrimonial matters. He has been certified by the Law Society of Upper Canada as a specialist in family law since 1990, sat on the Law Society's inaugural family law specialization committee, and has instructed in the bar admission course. He has been selected repeatedly for inclusion in Best Lawyers in Canada, won the Best Lawyers' Family Law Lawyer of the Year award for London/Windsor in 2012, and is recognized by Lexpert as a leading family law practitioner.
