About Ian
Ian Andres is a partner at Goodmans and heads its Municipal and Land Development Group. His practice covers a broad range of administrative law matters for public and private sector clients across Ontario, with a particular focus on municipal and planning issues. He regularly handles complex development applications and land use policy appeals involving growth management, infrastructure, environmental, and heritage considerations. Ian frequently represents property owners in expropriation proceedings and in tax assessment and rebate appeals, and he has deep experience with land valuation, development charges, and brownfield remediation programs. He also advises clients on governance, licensing, procurement, and lobbying matters. Ian appears regularly before municipal councils, the Ontario Land Tribunal, the Toronto Local Appeal Body, and the Assessment Review Board.
