About Howard

Howard (Howie) Sniderman, KC, is a senior litigator and past chair of Witten's Litigation Department, with a commercial litigation and arbitration practice emphasizing commercial lease and contract litigation, builders' liens and insolvency litigation. He earned his LLB from the University of Alberta in 1981 and was admitted to the Alberta bar in 1982, and was designated Queen's Counsel (now King's Counsel) in 2013. Howie taught Civil Advocacy at the University of Alberta Faculty of Law and received the 2023 Distinguished Service Award for Pro Bono Legal Service from the Law Society of Alberta and the Canadian Bar Association. He has chaired the CBA's Commercial Leasing subsection and served as president of Edmonton Beth Shalom Congregation. Outside of the office, he coached minor hockey and baseball.
