About Zachary

Zachary Al-Khatib is the founder of ZK Law, an Edmonton criminal defence firm. He focuses on defending people's rights in cases involving criminal charges, workplace investigations, professional discipline, and other complex legal situations. Before starting his practice, Zachary served as a judicial clerk at the Supreme Court of Canada (2018-2019) and at the Alberta Court of Appeal, developing insight into how courts evaluate cases. He teaches Court Procedure and Constitutional Rights as a Sessional Lecturer at the University of Alberta and regularly leads seminars for lawyers and the public across Canada. His academic distinctions from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law include the Gowlings WLG Prize in Trial Advocacy, the Jerry S. Grafstein Prize in Communications Law, and the Blakes Scholar Award. Zachary is fluent in English and Arabic.
