About Hilary

Hilary Mutch is an associate at Arvay Finlay LLP, which she joined in 2024 after clerking for two justices of the Court of Appeal for British Columbia. She has a broad interest in public law litigation, human rights, and privacy. During law school at the University of Victoria she received the Law Foundation of BC Public Interest Award and the David Strong Leadership in Legal Studies Award, competed in the Wilson Moot, and co-founded a student group focused on harm reduction and decriminalization. Before law school she worked in the nonprofit sector developing and facilitating programs aimed at social change. She holds a JD from the University of Victoria and a BA in English Literature from McGill University.
