About Gila

Gila Gabay concentrates her practice on estate litigation and administration, handling will challenges, dependent relief claims, and disputes over guardianship and powers of attorney. Before joining Bales Beall she practised family law at a boutique firm, appearing before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice as well as the Ontario Court of Justice on a range of matters. That background lets her draw connections between family law and estate issues when the two areas overlap. She earned her J.D. from the University of Ottawa's French Common Law Program in 2018 and a B.A. (Hons.) from York University in 2015, and she was called to the Ontario bar in 2019. Gila belongs to the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, holding the STEP Canada Diploma in Trusts and Estates, along with the Canadian Bar Association, the Ontario Bar Association, and the Advocates' Society.
