About Gary
Gary E. Smith is the managing partner and co-founder of Fix & Smith, an Edmonton criminal defence firm. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology from the University of Alberta in 1987, graduated from the University of Alberta Faculty of Law in 1990, and was called to the Alberta Bar in 1991. Smith has defended clients at every level of court in Alberta, in matters ranging from impaired driving and assault to drug trafficking and murder, and he has a particular focus on defending Indigenous clients, including participation in First Nations special court sittings and Elder Justice committees.
