About Gabrielle

Gabrielle joined Rise in 2022. Before joining Rise, she was a family lawyer in private practice for six years, assisting clients at all levels of court in BC on complex legal issues including cases involving family violence, and became well-acquainted with the family court system and the challenges women who interact with it frequently face. Gabrielle has a JD from the University of Victoria Faculty of Law and holds a BA in women's studies and a BFA (Honours) in visual art from the University of Calgary. As a law student she worked with West Coast LEAF on the Cyber Misogyny project, examining legal responses to gendered harassment of women and girls online.
