She earned a Bachelor of Arts from Bennington College and a Master of Arts in English literature from McGill University before obtaining her law degree, with a Specialization Certificate in Aboriginal and Indigenous Law, from the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University. During law school she completed an internship with Nova Scotia Legal Aid's Halifax Appeals office and a clinical term with Dalhousie Legal Aid Service. Gabriele is a Head Coach for Special Olympics Dartmouth's Rhythmic Gymnastics program, for which she was named Coach of the Year.
