About François

François Barré is a partner in DWF's Montréal office, practising civil litigation with an emphasis on property insurance and civil liability matters. He appears regularly before all levels of court and administrative tribunals in Quebec and takes an active role in alternative dispute resolution. Barré practises in both French and English. He has spoken at conferences for organizations such as the Mutuelle des municipalités du Québec and Hockey Québec on topics including the legal limits of supervision and the civil liability of sports directors and volunteers, and he has chaired the Hockey Région Laval discipline committee since 2010. He holds law degrees from the Université d'Ottawa and was called to the Quebec Bar in 2001.
