About Eric

Eric Atkinson is trained in civil law, common law and European law and practices tax, commercial and succession planning law at Patterson Law, advising French and English speaking clients across the Maritimes and Quebec for more than 35 years. He began his career articling at the Supreme Court of Canada and later worked as a tax litigator for the Canada Revenue Agency before joining a Montreal business law firm. He has developed particular expertise restructuring fishing businesses, using his knowledge of tax rules and EI Fishing Regulations, and is Past President of the French Lawyers Association of Nova Scotia.
