About Emmett

Emmett Scrimshaw is a litigator who joined Heath Law in October 2023. After earning his law degree from the University of Victoria in 2011, he moved to Calgary, Alberta, where he handled complex litigation for corporate and individual clients before returning to Vancouver Island. His practice includes claims regarding breach of contract, wrongful dismissal, commercial leases, shareholder rights, estates, and professional negligence. He has represented clients in the Supreme Court and Court of Appeal of British Columbia, all levels of court in Alberta, the Federal Court of Canada, and the Tax Court of Canada, and has assisted with leave applications to the Supreme Court of Canada. He has also conducted arbitrations, mediations, and appeals in post-secondary education and competitive athletics matters.
