About Ellen
Ellen Swan practises as an experienced commercial and civil litigator with an employment law focus at Caravel Law. She previously held roles at Home Depot Canada, Davis LLP, Slaughter and May, and Aird & Berlis LLP. Her clients have included Primus Telecommunications, Cintex International, and Jones Lang LaSalle, and her litigation experience covers summary judgment motions, property damage claims, occupier's liability disputes, contract disagreements, breach-of-fiduciary-duty claims, and wrongful dismissal. Ellen regularly appears in Ontario courts, including the Court of Appeal and the Superior Court, as well as before the Ontario Labour Board, and has handled examinations for discovery in complex, multi-party matters. She also counsels clients on drafting and negotiating agreements for executives, including appointment letters for directors, employment contracts, severance terms and consulting arrangements. Ellen holds an LL.B. from Queen's University and a B.A. from Dalhousie University.
