Civil Litigation & Dispute ResolutionElizabeth Bowker is a trial and appellate lawyer with a varied and complex practice built on client communication: she prioritizes understanding her clients' needs and telling their stories persuasively. She favours mediated settlements where possible but is equally comfortable arguing at trial or through the appeal courts. Her advocacy has taken her before the Supreme Court of Canada, the Courts of Appeal in Ontario and New Brunswick, Ontario's Superior Court of Justice, its Divisional Court, and various administrative tribunals. Her practice touches insurance coverage disputes, medical malpractice, products liability, municipal liability, professional liability, employment matters, and class actions. Elizabeth sits on the Class Proceedings Committee, jointly appointed by the Law Foundation of Ontario and the Attorney General of Ontario, and the Best Lawyers in Canada guide recognizes her work in class action litigation and insurance law. She speaks often at conferences for professional and insurance organizations and organizes her firm's continuing education programs. Before articling, she interned with the UN High Commissioner for Refugees in Geneva.
