About Donald

Donald Devine has practised law in Montreal since being admitted to the Quebec Bar in 1969. He was a founding member of Pascal Cohen and Devine in 1972, later renamed Pascal Garonce Cohen Devine and Leiter, which merged with Mendelsohn Rosentzveig (now McMillan) in 1989, where he remained a partner for more than 15 years. In 2005 he joined Linda Schachter and Carolyn Polak to found Devine Schachter Polak. He has pleaded before the Superior Court, the Court of Appeal, and the Supreme Court of Canada, chaired the liaison committee with the Superior Court on family matters, served as Treasurer of the Bar of Montreal, and was a founding member of the Association of Collaborative Lawyers of Quebec. He has published articles and lectured on family law and is bilingual in English and French.
