About Diann

Diann Castle was born in Oxbow, Saskatchewan, and raised in Cochrane, Alberta. She earned a psychiatric nursing diploma from Alberta Hospital Edmonton in 1977 and a rehabilitation counselling diploma from Red Deer College in 1978, then worked as a nurse at Foothills Hospital before pursuing law. She received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Calgary in 1983 and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Windsor in 1987, and was called to the bar in 1988. She articled with Meurin & Isbister before founding Castle & Associates in 1991, and has since appeared in more than 100 reported decisions across Alberta's courts, with a practice focused on family law and child welfare matters. She favours mediation, negotiation, and counselling before resorting to litigation.
