About Derek
Derek Hetherington was called to the bar on July 22, 2024. He spent 12 years as an accountant in private and public sector roles before moving into law, and draws on that financial background when advising on clients' economic and business issues. Born in Alberta, he grew up internationally, including time in Texas, Saudi Arabia, Alaska, England, Scotland, and Argentina, before returning to university at 36 to earn degrees in History and Law. He has volunteered with the Canadian Red Cross and the Mustard Seed, and has intermediate knowledge of Spanish.
