About Derek

Derek Creighton is a trial lawyer with Access Law Group, with experience in major personal injury and wrongful death claims, as well as municipal, government, and police litigation, commercial and construction litigation, and employment and human rights matters. He has represented physicians and lawyers in wrongful death and catastrophic injury cases involving brain and spinal cord injuries and chronic pain, and has obtained one of the largest wrongful death awards in Canadian history. He has taught for organizations including the Continuing Legal Education Society, the BC Justice Institute, and the Municipal Officers' Association. He became a member of the Law Society of British Columbia in 1979 after earning his LLB from the University of British Columbia Law School.
